The process in which sperm is donated for couples or unpartnered patients to use, when either the patient does not have a sperm producing partner, or if the sperm producing partner has a very poor semen analysis, or a genetic problem which could be inherited. Most donor sperm is obtained from one of the many FDA approved sperm banks which are located here in the United States. One can also obtain donated sperm from a person that they know, after adequate screening and paperwork has been completed by the Fertility clinic and relevant legal representation.

The Sperm Donor Process
After your fertility assessment and sperm analysis has been conducted, a treatment plan will be determined.
All donors will undergo extensive screening to ensure they are approved to donate sperm, including a physical exam, donor questionnaire, medical history, lab tests, and infectious disease testing.
